Vienna (pts017/08.02.2010/11:30) - The international singing competition CONCOURS ERNST HAEFLIGER will be held for the third time August 16-22 2010 in Berne and Gstaad/Switzerland. The competition is open worldwide for singers age under 32 years and is supported by the Swiss Federal office for Culture in Berne and Federal councillor Didier Burkhalter. Maestri Claudio Abbado and James Levine are honorary members of the governing board.
The competition CONCOURS ERNST HAEFLIGER http://www.concours-haefliger.com , dedicated to the famous Swiss Tenor Ernst Haefliger, was initiated in 2006 by Aviel Cahn, former director of berne Stadttheater and provides a unique chance for highly talented young opera singers to create themselves a platform for starting their international career.
