Increased network spending on consulting
World market to reach 29.3 billion dollars by 2007

Framingham (pte039/09.04.2003/13:52) - Worldwide network consulting and integration services spending will grow to over 29.3bn dollars by 2007, at a compound annual growth rate of 7.8 per cent, predicts a new study by IDC http://www.icd.com .

In 2003, IDC expects much of the spending on network consulting and integration services by carriers to be spent on activities designed to reduce the costs of existing networks. Services such as network optimization and operations assessments will take priority. In the enterprise market, IDC's research shows that much of the spending on network consulting and integration services through 2003 will be driven by spending in the areas of wireless services and security services.

According to IDC, future consolidation among the large service providers will continue throughout the forecast period and the overall IT services market will experience further merger and acquisition activity in 2003.

The IDC study, "Worldwide and U.S. Network Consulting and Integration Services Forecast and Analysis, 2002-2007", presents a five year forecast for the worldwide and US network consulting and integration services market from 2002 through 2007. The purpose of this study is to identify recent trends that are influencing the network consulting and integration opportunity and discuss their impact on the five year forecast.
