Zurich, Switzerland (ptp027/08.08.2019/14:00) - Today the photographer Dancho Atanasov announced that his work "Depth" will be digitally exhibited at this year's SWISSARTEXPO as part of the ARTBOX.PROJECT Zürich 1.0. The Swiss Arts Festival will take place from 15th to 19th August 2019 in Zurich's Main Station Hall.

Dancho Atanasov manages, like no other, to find perspectives that expand the space and show far more than just the exciting architecture. His work "Depth" tells of a repeating pattern, in an almost infinite sequence of steel. One can only guess what kind of building it is. In Atanasov's black-and-white photography, one initially loses all orientation and feels as if in a weightless space. At first glance, the steel seems to float slightly like paper, and the very next moment the building appears threatening and heavy. It's also impressive that the building doesn't seem to be used by people - is it empty? Where do the bridges lead to? The hard shadows reveal the hot sunlight - can you touch the steel girders without burning yourself? "Depth" has deservedly been awarded as a semi-finalist by the 15-member jury of the ARTBOX.PROJECT Zurich 1.0 and will receive a special presentation on the 2x2-meter LED screen at the SWISSARTEXPO.

Dancho Atanasov was born in 1966 in Plovdiv, the second largest city in Bulgaria. The city has been considered to be one of the oldest cities in the world and European capital of culture, 2019. Since his early childhood he has been interested in art and music and has tried out many things - from music to painting and fine arts. He gets to know photography through his uncle - skydiving as a teenager. His uncle, himself an enthusiastic parachutist and photographer, lends him his photographic equipment and teaches him the fundamentals.

The artist left his time as a combat pilot and air traffic controller behind and now works as a conceptual, fine art, landscape, travel and architectural photographer. His works have received many awards and are frequently exhibited. Most recently, his works could be admired in Austria at the Trierenberg Super Circuit 2018 and at the Barcelona International Photo Awards 2018 in Spain.

Atanasov recently published his latest artists' catalogue. It will also be shown live at the SWISSARTEXPO at an excellent location. If you would like to get an idea of the catalogue in advance, you can order it on https://artbox-publish.myshopify.com/products/dancho-atanasov?_pos=1&_sid=82d301534&_ss=r or Amazon.
