Zurich (ptp031/22.08.2023/15:00) - The talented artist Irene Bittner will add colour to Zurich's main railway station with her inspiring creations as part of the SWISSARTEXPO 2023. Her remarkable mixed media paintings will be on display in their original form for visitors to admire at the vibrant and international art festival.

For a long time, Irene Bittner lacked the courage to devote herself fully to her passion and make art her profession. Even as a child, the Swiss artist gave free rein to her creativity and still derives a lot of strength and joy from her artistic work today. It was only after an eye-opening trip to America, where she met the artist Flora Bowley, that Bittner gained the necessary courage and confidence in her own abilities to finally take the step of opening her own atelier. Since then, the artist has presented her works in several national and international exhibitions, touching the hearts of many viewers.

Bittner seamlessly combines figurative aspects, geometric shapes and abstract ele- ments in her vibrant and captivating works on canvas. Her paintings convey a pro- found narrative that evokes deep emotions and stimulates the imagination. She de- scribes her creative process as intuitive, and enjoys the feel of the velvety paint bet- ween her fingers. She often writes her thoughts and feelings directly onto the canvas or incorporates natural elements such as ferns, spikelets or a potato carved into the shape of a leaf to give her creations organic forms.

Her multi-layered works resemble a colourful spectacle in which the viewer can com- pletely lose themselves. With skillful use of different forms and vibrant accents, the artist successfully guides the viewer's gaze through the artwork, creating an atmos- pheric experience. One becomes part of a colourful journey into one's own innermost being, whereby the artist is able to surprise again and again with exciting, unexpec- ted details. The interplay of details, the unrestrained brushstroke and the multifaceted approach give Bittner's art a deep dimension. Her paintings captivate and inspire, re- vealing the beauty in the overlooked little things that surround us every day.
